According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Super Eagles are set to arrive the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ealing London on March 20 to commence preparations for their international friendlies against Senegal and Burkina Faso.
Twenty-five (25) players have been invited along with their officials and interestingly, the hostel is in close proximity to Wembley. It is said to be about 1.98 miles from the stadium. Eagles’ are to battle Senegal and Burkina Faso, March 23 and 27 respectively
The NFF revealed that Super Eagles’ Coach, Gernot Rohr, who is already in Europe visiting with some of the players, would be on hand to welcome the boys on arrival, while the other coaches, including head coach, Salisu Yusuf, Imama Amapakabo and Alloy Agu, as well as home-based goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, will join the team from Nigeria the same day.
“You should understand that Rohr is on a mission to revamp the Super Eagles and it would not be right for anybody to impose players on him. He has been given the free hand to select players of his choice and the NFF is ready to give him all the support to succeed.
“The friendly games against Senegal and Burkina Faso in London are part of the ways the federation is assisting the coach to build a solid team for Nigeria,” he said.
NFF Secretary General, Mohammed Sanusi believes coach Rohr has the best interest of the team and Nigeria at heart, Nigerians should also extend their support.
