President Buhari Resumes Official Duties Today


President Muhammadu Buhari will resume his official duties today, March 13, the Presidency has confirmed.

He will also write the National Assembly on Monday, to officially notify the two chambers of his return from London.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, disclosed this on Sunday.

The President returned to the country on Friday, March 10, after 49 days of medical vacation in the United Kingdom.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has been carrying out Presidential duties in Buhari’s absence.

On media reports that Buhari may reshuffle his cabinet when he resumes, Adesina said he is not aware of that.

“The President has not discussed that with me. I report what he says,” he told the newspaper.

According to Femi Adesina, Buhari will today transmit a letter to the Senate and House of Reps members, officially informing them of his return and his resumption of duties as President.

Buhari is said to have remained indoors since Friday, after his meeting with Osinbajo and other top government officials.

Meanwhile there are speculations that a major cabinet reshuffle is expected to occur this week. although the presidency is yet to confirm this.
