At a time when several Man United players are being linked with a move away from Old Trafford, Romelu Lukaku has publicly stated his willingness to join Serie A. The Belgian striker made this confession after his nation’s recent 2-1 win over Switzerland.

Belgium’s all-time leading scorer grabbed a brace in that victory before being asked about a possible transfer to Italy after the full-time whistle. The 25-year-old admitted that he would be open to that prospect, naming one club in particular.

“Why not? I hope so,” was Lukaku’s response to La Gazzetta dello Sport about whether he would like to join the Italian top-flight.

The Red Devils forward later added: “Juve have a great project in place and they just keep going. Every year they try to get stronger.

“Without a doubt, Juve are one of the two or three best teams in Europe. They’ve got a great coach and extraordinary players in every area of the team.

“Cristiano Ronaldo stands out but watch out for the others too. Paulo Dybala is already impressive and getting stronger, while I love Douglas Costa. He’s an exceptional signing and his career shows he always makes the difference.

“It’s a tough group, but obviously Manchester United want to finish on top.”

It should be noted that the Bianconeri is Man United’s biggest opponent in their Champions League group this season. Nonetheless, Lukaku’s latest remarks could spark transfer rumors.

While the former Everton ace, who is tied to the club until 2022, boasts a respectable tally of four goals from eight appearances in the Premier League this term, he is part of Mourinho’s misfiring team that is struggling. The English giant sits eighth in the standings after racking up 13 points from their opening eight games.

And as usual, the Belgian ace has come under criticism for some awful misses. This has even sparked rumors that Jose is keen on resigning Zlatan Ibrahimovic on loan, but those claims are nothing but speculation at this point.
